Autel IM508S – 2024 Vauxhall Movano “Data Read Failed” Solution

Problem:
On a 2024 Vauxhall Movano (also known as Opel Movano / Fiat Ducato / Peugeot Boxer), the Autel IM508S shows a “data read failed” message.
 
The tool correctly reads the number of keys in the system
 
Fails when attempting to read immobiliser data
 
Vehicle tested with two brand-new dealer keys
 

 
Solution:
Reading immobiliser data via OBD or SGW cable is not possible on this model.
 
Your options are:
 
Obtain the PIN code from the dealer, or
 
Remove the BSI and read the EEPROM to retrieve the PIN
 
Working Method:
 
Perform a BCM EEPROM job
 
Bench-read the ECU with Autel to obtain the PIN
 
Program the keys directly
 
No need to read immobiliser data, as the keys are already pre-coded.
